Events at Woven History & Silk Road

Join us for events at Woven History & Silk Road! Each month, we host an array of different events, ranging from craft workshops to book clubs. If you would like to host or collaborate on an event, please email us! We would love to work together.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1ST: SOLIDARITY SUPPER: MUTUAL AID FOR NEPAL (6:00PM to 8:00PM)

  • Join us for an evening of delicious Nepalese food cooked by a Nepalese DC resident and a discussion on Tibetan/Nepalese rugs at Woven History & Silk Road. All proceeds will go to aiding Nepal as the country rebuilds after devastating floods in the region. 
  • Cost: $25 - what you can pay (sliding scale)

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2ND: CHAI AND CHAT WITH BOL COOP

  • Join us for our monthly Chai and Chat in collaboration with BOL coop. Sip on some Turkish tea, munch on some homemade cookies, and cultivate community with us! A curated collection of books will be available for purchase by BOL coop, and all Woven History merchandise will be 10% off. 
  • Cost: Free; $5 for chai and cookies

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4TH: MOSAIC COASTER WORKSHOP

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8TH: MOSAIC CANDLE HOLDER WORKSHOP

  • Join us for our first mosaic candle holder-making workshop at Woven History & Silk Road! All materials will be provided, and you will be able to take home a finished glass mosaic candle holder at the end of the workshop. Come craft with us!

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22ND: BOOK CLUB - "A GENTLEMAN IN MOSCOW" BY AMOR TOWLES

  • Join us for our monthly book club where we will be discussing "A Gentleman in Moscow", a historical fiction novel by American author Amor Towles about an aristocrat sentenced to lifelong house arrest inside a luxury hotel.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25TH: BEADED EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP

  • Join us for another beaded embroidery workshop at Woven History & Silk Road! Learn a new craft in a cozy environment and take home the tools you need to continue your project. All materials are provided. Excited to see you there!
